Kia ora koutou

I have been a part of NZMPA teaching group for a number of years , initially as a tutor assistant and over the last few years as a lead tutor.  I am a current member of the NZMPA Education committee and in the past I have been a member of the NZMPA Executive.  I am currently a senior lecturer at AUT where I am involved in the delivery and development of the undergraduate and postgraduate Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy programme at AUT. Prior to my teaching role I was a clinician in private practice with a focus on Sports Physiotherapy. I have worked closely with elite NZ sports teams including NZ Rowing and NZ Hockey and have had many fabulous opportunities working with these teams and attending various world renown events over the years. Currently I am enrolled in a Doctorate of Health Science where I am investigating the delivery of culturally responsive education.

I am a strong advocate for the Physiotherapy profession, and in particular musculoskeletal physiotherapy.  In my capacity as an educator within this NZMPA teaching programme, it is my goal to provide a teaching and learning experience where a broad perspective is provided to course participants so that their repertoire of care provided to patients is developed, at times challenged, or reaffirmed. I also see my role as an educator as a position of reciprocity whereby the contribution of knowledge from the clinicians is always welcomed.

I am a mother of two gorgeous girls and wife to Grant who is also a physiotherapist.

I look forward to meeting you!

Ngā mihi nui, Jill
